Reno area rodeo fans will have plenty to be excited for this June, as the Reno Rodeo will ride again! From Thursday, June 14 through Saturday, June 23, the Reno-Sparks Livestock Center will be packed with classic rodeo events. There will be a cattle drive through town, a number of popular shows and competitions, along with live music and a carnival for families to check out. More than 750 rodeo athletes will be on hand to make this year’s Reno Rodeo festivities one to remember! You can also take advantage of the marketplace set up at the rodeo, which will see vendors on hand to offer a number of rodeo- and cowboy-themed items for sale.
On Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13, there will be no shortage of terrific activities happening for families to take part in, as Reno will be hosting the annual Reno River Festival! During this two day event, there will be many different activities happening, and a number of ways for you and your family to take part. Now in its fifteenth year, the festival will lure big crowds to Wingfield Park and the Truckee River, where you can enjoy a number of special activities and events. Even if you shy away from rafting activities, there will be many vendors, food and drink stations, and much more for you to enjoy!
Reno resident runners will want to be a part of the upcoming Downtown River Run Marathon, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 29. This event will offer several different course lengths. You can take part in a 5K race, a 10K race, a half-marathon, or a full marathon! A junior 1-mile run will also be offered. Each course will take participants through the scenic downtown Reno area, with the starting line situated under the Reno Arch! Your run will take you along the Truckee River, until returning to the downtown area. A special post-race celebration will be waiting for you at the end of your journey, with food, drinks, and snacks available. This race serves as a Boston-qualifying marathon.
