Grimes Point Archaeological Area

Not everywhere can you visit an archaeological area that is still being studied, but an hour east of Reno you can. At Grimes Point Nevada, archaeologists study clues left by early inhabitants. A fragment of bone, stone scrapper used to butcher small animals, a scrap of tule matting, and Native American petroglyphs are the sorts of things studied by archaeologists to learn about the history of the area.
